I would like to start with a question. Why are carbohydrates considered bad? Carbohydrates, when consumed properly, neither pile up your body with unnecessary flesh nor do they make your diet imbalanced. It is the opposite though.

Carbohydrates should make up for at least sixty five percent of your daily intake. Carbohydrates with a small amount of protein can make up for the best breakfast ever. It’s healthy to have carbohydrates early in the morning to kick start your metabolism for the entire day. They are energy givers and the best food to break your fast. The energy produced from carbs helps to sustain the body and its functions. It supports body functions like breathing, circulation, digestion, and helps the body to carry out many other metabolic activities for the rest of the day.

Carbohydrates are wrongly considered as food that is responsible for your bulging tummy. They, in no way are a cause of you not being able to lose weight. On the other hand, a good balanced diet in the morning gives a lot of time to carbohydrates to break down and produce energy. Another benefit of carbs is that it gives a chance to proteins to be free to take care of activities they are responsible for, i.e. growth, and repair of wear and tear of tissues and cells in our body. Dishes like Idli, Poha, Upma, and bread are rich in carbs. They can be combined with eggs and sprouts to have a little pinch of protein with the carbs you are eating. This will help you to use your food intake to its best potential.

Balanced diet is the key. As far as our body is concerned, food is considered to be the best and safest sustenance fuel. Regular and right conjunction of various nutrients ensures that the blood sugar levels remain balanced and don’t go haywire. Small and frequent meals make sure that the energy and sugar levels are stable. On the other hand, if you remain hungry for a long while or do not eat nutritionally packed breakfast in the morning, you usually tend to eat larger and imbalanced meals over the day. It leads to an upsurge of sugar levels and in turn reduce the energy levels.

Carbohydrates are good for the body and are essential too. You can take a little care that you consume good carbohydrates and keep yourself hydrated too. Adequate sleep should also be given adequate weightage. If all these things are taken care of, you can be sure of enjoying good energy levels and mood in life.
