July 2009, Nimbuzz wins "Best Mobile Startup" at the TechCrunch Europe Awards 2009 for European and EMEA companies, and gets put on the AlwaysOn Global 250 List, featuring the top 250 emerging private companies that are creating new business opportunities in global technology industries, for the second year in a row.

April 2009, Nimbuzz gets nominated for the 2009 Webby Awards as Best Mobile Application. The annual Webby Awards, are the leading international awards honoring excellence on the Internet.

January 2009, Nimbuzz was awarded the prestigious Red Herring Global 100 award, as the first aggregated mobile instant messenger product ever. Evaluations were made on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, innovation, management, global strategy, and ecosystem integration.
