July 2009, Nimbuzz wins "Best Mobile Startup" at the TechCrunch Europe Awards 2009 for European and EMEA companies, and gets put on the AlwaysOn Global 250 List, featuring the top 250 emerging private companies that are creating new business opportunities in global technology industries, for the second year in a row.

In April 2009, Nimbuzz was awarded the second Red Herring award, Red Herring 100 Europe, thereby singling Nimbuzz out as one of the top 100 most promising tech companies in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). “The exceptional accomplishments of European technology start-ups and entrepreneurs are a testament to the rapid advancements being made in building the European innovation ecosystem.“  Red Herring Managing Director, Farley Duvall stated.

April 2009, Nimbuzz gets nominated for the 2009 Webby Awards as Best Mobile Application. The annual Webby Awards, are the leading international awards honoring excellence on the Internet.

March 2009, Nimbuzz was honored by the global mobile communications industry with the Mobile News Award 2009 for Best Converged Solution. Nimbuzz created "the best converged solution that meets customer needs without undermining mobile operators."

March 2009, Nimbuzz was nominated for the “Best In Show” award at the CTIA - Emerging Technology Awards 2009!

February 2009, Nimbuzz wins an impressive 4 awards at the Top Mobile 20 industry awards at Mobile World Congress, in the following categories: Top All-Around-Software, Top IM Application, Top VOIP Application, Top Free Software.

January 2009, Nimbuzz was awarded the prestigious Red Herring Global 100 award, as the first aggregated mobile instant messenger product ever. Evaluations were made on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, innovation, management, global strategy, and ecosystem integration.

December 2008, Nimbuzz was rewarded with runner-up for Product of the Year 2008 by Smartphone Biz News. Nimbuzz took 20 percent of the votes and also earned some enthusiastic admiration from readers who praised its services in the crowded mobile IM client space: “Nimbuzz stands out for it’s stability, well thought-out interface and impressive network support.”

July 2008, Nimbuzz wins Best Startup at Mobile 2.0 Europe, in its category. The mobile industry event was originally started in San Francisco, the technology innovation home, but has now put on its first European conference to recognize the wealth of talent emerging here in Europe.
